The 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona is the first all-electric from the American automaker that’s known for high-powered muscle cars. The Charger Daytona arrives as the first all-electric muscle car on sale.
The exterior design of the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona matches the gas-powered muscle cars that fans have come to love from the brand. Dodge will offer the electric Charger Daytona in both two- and four-door body styles. Despite its muscular lines, the Charger Daytona hides a versatile hatchback rear end. From a design standpoint, the Charger Daytona features lengthy overhangs, curvy lines, chunky fenders, and simple horizontal lighting.
On the inside, the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona features a modern interior design that’s unlike anything else we’ve seen from the brand. The electric car has flowing door panels that line up with a tiered dashboard. A large central touchscreen is positioned in front of the dash, while a thin row of touch-capacitive controls is located directly underneath the screen. Other standout elements include a square steering wheel and a pistol-grip shifter.
When it comes to tech features, the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona is expected to come standard with a 10.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch touchscreen. The car will be available with a 16-inch digital instrument cluster. Dodge’s Uconnect 5 infotainment system will come standard, bringing wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Engine & Specs
Dodge hasn’t unveiled all of the 2024 Charger Daytona’s specifications yet. The all-electric car features a 400-volt “propulsion system” with an integrated charge module and dual electric motors. In the R/T trim, the powertrain makes 496 horsepower, while the Scat Pack is rated at up to 670 hp. Special drive models include a Drift mode, a Donut mode, Launch control, and Line Lock.
The Charger Daytona will come with a 100.5-kWh battery pack that has a peak discharge rate of 500 kW. The Daytona R/T is expected to have a range of more than 317 miles, while the Scat Pack has a lower estimate of 260 miles of range. When plugged into a Level 3 DC fast charger, the Charger Daytona can go from 20% to 80% in roughly 27 minutes.
2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Safety
On the safety front, the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona will come standard with forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, a driver-attention monitor, and Active Driving Assist.
Available safety features will include a surround-view camera, a blind spot camera, and parking sensors.
2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Price
Pricing for the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona has not been announced yet.
Competitors in the all-electric car segment include the BMW i4, Genesis Electrified G80, Hyundai IONIQ 6, Polestar 2, and Tesla Model 3.
2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Release Date
Production of the two-door 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona was initially scheduled to begin in the middle of 2024, but a recent software issue has delayed its release.
Per Mopar Insiders, we will have to wait at least another 90 days for the Daytona’s arrival while the kinks are ironed out. The four-door Charger Daytona was scheduled to enter into production in the first quarter of 2025, but its timeline may be affected as well. More information on the all-electric car should become available within the next few months.
