What To Expect
BMW is set to introduce a fully redesigned X3 for the SUV’s 2025 model year. The fourth-generation model arrives with an updated design, a revised chassis, updated powertrains, an upgraded infotainment system, and new safety features. Here’s what shoppers need to know about the upcoming 2025 BMW X3.
The 2025 BMW X3 benefits from a new exterior design. The SUV’s front end adopts a more angular front fascia with revised kidney grilles that now have a mix of vertical and diagonal bars. The headlights have a sharper design than before, while the front air intakes have grown in size. The back of the X3 features updated taillights, a more prominent rear bumper, and a deep cutout in the liftgate.
The interior design of the 2025 BMW X3 has changed dramatically for the full redesign. The compact SUV’s dashboard has been redesigned for a simpler look, while two large screens that are integrated into a single panel dominate the dash. The X3 has fewer physical controls than before and dramatic C- and U-shaped trim pieces with multi-color ambient lighting. BMW has fitted the X3 with a flat-bottom steering wheel, along with a new toggle gear selector for the transmission.
BMW has not confirmed the size of the screens in the new 2025 X3. The automaker has confirmed that the new X3 will come with the latest BMW Operating System 9. The system can be controlled via the touchscreen, iDrive controller on the center console, controls on the steering wheel, and through the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. Through BMW Digital Premium, the X3 is available with Spotify, podcasts, news, and in-car gaming, as well as cloud-based navigation.
2025 BMW X3 Engine & Specs
Power for the 2025 BMW X3 will come from a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that’s paired with a 48-volt mild hybrid system. The base engine in the X3 30 xDrive (BMW has dropped the “i” from the SUV) is rated at 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. BMW claims the X3 30 xDrive can get to 60 mph in roughly six seconds.
For added performance, there’s the M50 trim. It features a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine that’s paired with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. It produces 393 hp and 428 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive is standard.
2025 BMW X3 Safety
BMW hasn’t shared a full list of safety features for the 2025 X3, but the compact SUV is expected to come with a lengthy list of standard equipment. Standard features will include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition, blind spot monitoring, and BMW’s Driving Assistant.
The SUV is available with a new Parking Assistant Professional package that brings spark assist that’s based on road markings and the curb instead of other vehicles and brings smartphone-controlled parking. The BMW Maneuver Assistant allows owners to store parking and general maneuvers, while the available Driving Assistant Professional Package brings hands-free driving at speeds of less than 40 mph.
2025 BMW X3 Price
Official 2025 BMW X3 pricing will start at $50,675 for the X3 30 xDrive trim and $65,275 for the M50.
