2025 Cadillac Lyriq Engine
The 2025 Cadillac Lyriq has standard rear-wheel drive, with a 340-hp electric powertrain on the rear axle. With this entry-level arrangement, acceleration is decent, and the Lyriq feels snappy, but it lacks the powerful feeling we get from competitive SUVs like the BMW iX and Tesla Model X. At our test track, the rear-wheel-drive Lyriq reached 60 mph in 5.7 seconds, which is very speedy for a mid-size SUV but falls behind EV competitors. An additional 500-hp dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain adds a second motor for powering the front wheels. At our test track, the all-wheel-drive Lyriq reached 60 mph in 4.6 seconds.
