What To Expect
After some speculation that the model would be discontinued, the 2025 Cadillac XT5 is set to arrive as a carryover model. Cadillac’s shift toward EVs won’t leave room for the gas-powered luxury crossover. However, the XT5 will stick around for at least the 2025 model year. Here’s everything we know about the carryover 2025 Cadillac XT5.
GM Authority reports that the XT5’s future was in doubt after the 2024 model year, as Cadillac plans to go all-electric by 2030. Another possibility for the XT5 they laid out was the American arrival of the Chinese market version as a stopgap before the EV transition. However, GM order guide data revealed no significant changes for the 2025 XT5, meaning that the crossover as we know it should live on for at least the 2025 model year.
A staple of the Cadillac lineup since 2017, the XT5 slots between the compact XT4 and three-row XT6 in the Cadillac lineup. With seating for five and up to 63 cubic feet of cargo space, the XT5 dwells on the smaller end of the midsize segment. The base price includes heated power front seats, a power liftgate, and an 8-inch touchscreen.
The mid-level Premium Luxury trim provides the expected equipment for this class, like genuine leather seats, a panoramic sunroof, and wood interior trim. The line-topping Sport combines such upgrades with enhanced performance hardware.
2025 Cadillac XT5 Engine & Specs
The XT5 is sure to retain its current powertrains for 2025. The standard turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine produces 235 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The available 3.6-liter V6 provides a boost to 310 hp and 271 lb-ft of torque, enabling the XT5 to tow up to 3,500 pounds. Both engines use a nine-speed automatic transmission and can be paired with front- or all-wheel drive.
The Sport gets the V6 and AWD as standard, plus an adaptive sport suspension and Brembo brakes.
2025 Cadillac XT5 Safety
The current XT5 offers a full suite of standard driver-assistance features, including lane-keeping assist, automatic high beams, a following distance indicator, parking sensors, and automatic emergency braking. Nearly everything else is available in progressive option packages.
The XT5 can be equipped with adaptive cruise control, reverse automatic braking, automated parking, surround-view cameras, and a head-up display. While the SuperCruise hands-free highway driving system is available on most Cadillacs, it likely won’t appear on the XT5 options list.
The XT5 earned a five-star overall safety rating in the latest NHTS testing.
2025 Cadillac XT5 Price
We expect only a modest inflationary increase in price for the XT5‘s final year. The 2024 model ranges from $45,290 including destination to $58,190 for the Sport before options.
The XT5 competes with two-row, midsize luxury SUVs like the Lincoln Nautilus, Volvo XC60, and Lexus RX 350.
