What To Expect

The 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 will likely receive a handful of equipment upgrades. According to reports, adaptive cruise control will become standard on the plush High Country, and the off-road ZR2 model will get standard parking sensors. The Custom trim is set to gain a black exterior trim package, and the Midnight Edition will receive restyled wheels. The current generation of Chevy’s full-size pickup launched in 2019 and underwent a refresh for 2022. An all-new Silverado 1500 is expected for the 2027 model year.

The Silverado 1500‘s trim levels and configurations aren’t likely to change for 2025. Buyers will have a choice of Regular Cab, Double Cab, and Crew Cab body styles, plus three bed lengths: the 5.8-foot short bed, 6.6-foot standard bed, and 8-foot long bed. The Silverado can seat up to six. The deep model lineup ranges from the workaday WT trim to the adventure-ready ZR2.

2025 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Engine & Specs

The 2025 Silverado 1500 will likely retain its current engine roster. The standard engine for most trims is a turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder with 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. The 2.7-liter can tow up to 9,500 pounds. Towing capacity rises to 11,500 pounds with the available 5.3-liter V8, which develops 355 hp and 383 lb-ft.

For enhanced efficiency, Chevy offers a 3.0-liter six-cylinder turbodiesel with 305 hp and 495 lb-ft of torque. The top choice is a 6.2-liter V8 good for 420 hp and 460 lb-ft. When equipped with the turbodiesel or 6.2-liter, the Silverado 1500 is rated to tow up to 13,300 pounds. Four-wheel drive is standard on the Trailboss and ZR2, and optional on all other trims.

2025 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Safety

Every 2025 Silverado 1500 will likely come with lane-keeping assist, automatic high beams, and automatic emergency braking. Popular options will include blind-spot monitoring, parking sensors, reverse automatic braking, surround-view cameras, and adaptive cruise control.

These items are standard on the upper trims, which can also be equipped with a head-up display, rearview camera mirrors, and a bed camera. GM’s Supercruise hands-free highway driving system will probably remain available on the High Country only.

The Silverado 1500 earns a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA.

2025 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Price

We expect pricing to reflect a modest inflationary increase for 2025. The Silverado 1500’s MSRP currently starts at $38,695 including destination and climbs to $71,795 for the ZR2 before options.

The 2025 Silverado 1500 will compete with other regular-duty full-size pickups like the Ford F-150RAM 1500Nissan Titan, and Toyota Tundra.

2025 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Release Date

The Silverado 1500 usually arrives at dealers over the summer. We expect the 2025 model to land in July 2024.
