Ford Expedition
What To Expect
The 2025 Ford Expedition will likely arrive with the same basic design as the current model but with revised styling at the front and rear. Recently leased photos suggest the upcoming Expedition will receive a new grille, updated headlights, and possibly a reshaped hood. The liftgate may adopt a cleaner look while retaining its overall shape.
The Expedition will continue to serve as Ford‘s traditional full-size SUV with seating for up to eight, abundant cargo room, and truck-like towing capability. Current standard equipment includes a 12-inch touchscreen, an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, and the Ford Co-Pilot360 suite of driver-assistance features. The deep model lineup offers increasing levels of luxury, technology, and performance. The extended-length Expedition Max variant appeals to buyers who need all the space they can get.
2025 Ford Expedition Engine & Specs
Despite the expected refresh, the Expedition‘s powertrains will probably carry over. The standard twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 delivers 380 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. Engine output increases to 400 hp and 480 lb-ft on the upper trims.
A third version of the 3.5-liter with 440 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque is available on the Timberline and Limited trims. Four-wheel drive is standard on the outdoorsy Timberline and optional everywhere else in the lineup. All models use a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Properly equipped, the Expedition can tow up to 9,200 pounds.
2025 Ford Expedition Safety
We’re certain Ford Co-Pilot360 will remain standard on the Expedition. The safety tech bundle includes lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, automatic high beams, rear parking sensors, and automatic emergency braking.
More advanced features like adaptive cruise control, surround-view cameras, and evasive steering assist are available on most models. The upper trims can be equipped with Ford’s BlueCruise hands-free highway driving system.
The current Expeditions earns a five-star overall safety rating for NHTSA.
2025 Ford Expedition Price
Unless the refresh brings substantially more standard equipment, we expect only a modest inflationary increase in price for 2025. The Expedition’s MSRP currently starts at $57,970 including destination and goes to $86,140 for the Max version in top Platinum trim.
The Expedition competes with full-size SUVs like the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, GMC Yukon, Nissan Armada, and Toyota Sequoia.
