2025 Honda Civic Review – Honda now says the Civic Hybrid will be available for the 2025 model year, not 2024, as previously reported. Production of the hybrid sedan will begin in the first quarter of 2024, followed by the hybrid hatchback. Last April, we reported that Honda had debuted a hybrid version of the Civic hatchback in Europe, and we believed that it might also arrive in the United States to replace the canceled Insight sedan. We don’t know yet how Honda would adopt the European car’s powertrain, which consists of a 2.0-liter inline-four and two electric motors combining for 181 horsepower, for the US market.
2025 Honda Civic Redesign
The Honda Civic falls into the compact car category and has long been a client favorite. The Honda Civic is now in its eleventh generation. Civic’s first generation debuted in 1973, followed by their second generation in 1979, and their eleventh generation in 2021, with their model now accessible on the market.
The Civic will feature various changes and technical upgrades. After viewing their model shifting chain, we may assume various modifications in their new model; nevertheless, we cannot validate the redesign because the corporation has provided no information. However, if they release any additional information in the future, we will keep you updated.
Honda Civic Interior
Clean lines and a dashboard with a full-width honeycomb-patterned mesh design element ingeniously concealing the air vents are features of the interior’s streamlined design. A spacious center console with a huge, deep bin in front of the shift lever for storing smartphones, keys, and road trip food is less crowded than the one in the outgoing model. According to Honda, the passenger space is about the same and the cargo area is larger.

- Ralley Red
- Sonic Gray Pearl
- Aegean Blue Metallic
- Platinum White Pearl
- Meteorite Gray Metallic
- Lunar Silver Metallic
- Crystal Black Pearl
2025 Honda Civic Engine
The Honda Civic chose to retain the available powerplant options from the previous generation of the Civic even though it completely overhauled everything else about the new model. The 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that powers the enhanced model continues to produce 181 horsepower, up from the base model’s 158-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder. The only form of the new Civic is a front-wheel-drive vehicle. Regrettably, a CVT will be the only available transmission for the previous-generation Civic car starting in 2022.

The hatchback type does still come with a six-speed manual, though. Our turbocharged Touring sedan reached 60 mph at our test track in 7.5 seconds, which is a little longer than the previous generation Civic. The manual Sport Touring hatchback we tested performed marginally better, reaching 60 mph in 7.3 seconds.
2025 Honda Civic Hybrid
The Civic Hybrid is a significant and probably overdue innovation for 2025. Honda’s journey to an electric vehicle range crosses a hybrid bridge, with hybrid versions of the Honda CR-V SUV and Honda Accord mid-size sedan set to account for over fifty percent of their sales volumes in 2023.
Honda hasn’t released any details, but the Accord’s two-motor hybrid system works in tandem with a 2.0-liter engine to provide 204 hp and 247 lb-ft of torque. It operates in electric mode with a gentle throttle, and we appreciated it for its flawless balance and quiet performance when switching between electric and gas settings. The Accord and, presumably, the Civic has paddle shifters at six levels of regenerative brakes, with the most powerful setting virtually bringing the car to a complete stop.
Honda Civic MPG and Fuel Efficiency
The Honda Civic EX Sedan has the best fuel economy, according to the 2025 Honda Civic. Honda, for example, claims that the EX Sedan will get 33 MPG in the city, 42 MPG on the highway, and 36 MPG combined. This is a fantastic fuel economy. The fuel economy for its hybrid trims, however, is right now unknown. As a result, the Honda Civic Hybrid MPG will be available soon.
