Honda Odyssey Preview

What To Expect

As we roll into 2024, Honda has promised styling and technology updates in its upcoming 2025 Odyssey, according to a recent press release. We haven’t seen any major changes to the Odyssey in several years, so this refresh will help keep the minivan on pace with the market of today. We don’t expect to see any changes to the lineup, which should still contain five trim levels for the 2025 model: EX, EX-L, Sport, Touring, and Elite.

With the changes being styling-based, we expect to see new headlights, perhaps a new front fascia, new wheel designs, and matching updates around the back to taillights and liftgate. Insind we expect to find more up-to-date technology features. The current Odyssey on sale comes with just an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM, and HD Radio. It has a number of USB ports and the CabinControl feature which allows passengers to control the audio and rear climate controls through the Honda App. Higher trims come with many more features than base trims, but we hope to see this change in the 2025 model.

2025 Honda Odyssey Engine & Specs

We don’t expect any changes to the engine for the 2025 Honda Odyssey. The current Odyssey comes with a single engine choice, the naturally-asperated 3.5-liter V6, which produces 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. Power is routed to the front wheels through a 10-speed automatic transmission.

The 2024 Honda Odyssey is 205.2 inches long, and 78.5 inches wide, which is standard for the class, but its 118-inch wheelbase is short compared to competitors like the Kia Carnival and Toyota Sienna. The shorter wheelbase doesn’t leave you lacking in space, however, as there’s plenty of interior space for both passengers and cargo. Offering 40.9 inches of legroom and 39.5 inches of headroom, the second row is a spacious place to be. A push-button allows the second-row seats to slide for easy access to the third row where passengers get 38.6 inches of legroom and 38 inches of headroom.

With both rows in place, the current Odyssey has accommodations for 32.8 cubic feet of gear. Flip the third row into the storage well in the rear and you’ll open up 88.8 cubes of space. With the second row removed as well the Honda minivan can swallow up to 145 cubic feet of cargo. We don’t expect these dimensions to change for the 2025 model year.

2025 Honda Odyssey Safety

The Honda Odyssey continues to be a Top Safety Pick+ for IIHS and has earned a five-star rating from the NHTSA for the 2024 model, despite its age. The 2025 model is not yet tested. The current Odyssey comes with a full suite of safety features including automatic emergency braking, blind-spot detection with rear cross-traffic monitoring, adaptive cruise control with lane-centering and low-speed following, traffic sign recognition, and automatic high beams.

Moving up to the Touring trim gains parking sensors and an interior camera to view the second and third rows. We don’t expect these features to change for the 2025 model.

2025 Honda Odyssey Price

We haven’t heard what the price will be on the upcoming 2025 Honda Odyssey, but we expect it to run slightly higher than the current minivan on sale. The MSRP of the current 2024 model is $39,635 with destination.

2025 Honda Odyssey Release Date

The Honda Odyssey will appear refreshed sometime later this year, we expect in late summer, though no official release date has been given by Honda.

The minivan will compete with others on the market such as the Toyota Sienna, Chrysler Pacifica, and Kia Carnival.
