Model Preview

The Kia EV5 is expected to go on sale sometime in 2025. Although Kia hasn’t released EV5 specs or photos, industry publication Automotive News reports that the EV5 will be an all-electric sedan. The EV5 could end up being the brand’s version of the upcoming Hyundai IONIQ 6 EV, though this has not yet been officially confirmed.

Will the EV5 be an alternative to the Tesla Model 3? That remains unclear for the time being. For reference, 2022 Model 3 specs promise up to 315 miles of range based on the configurations available today. In contrast, Hyundai says the IONIQ 6 will be capable of up to 380 miles of range based on the WLTP testing cycle.

The first vehicle in Kia’s newest generation of electric vehicles was the EV6, a cross between a hatchback and a small SUV similar to the Hyundai IONIQ 5. Down the line, the brand reportedly plans to create a family of EVs that will include the larger EV9 crossover and possibly two small electric SUVs called the EV3 and EV4.

Stay tuned for updates on the EV5 as they become available.
