What To Expect
Volkswagen is set to introduce a new generation of the Tiguan for the 2025 model year. The fully redesigned compact SUV will arrive for its third generation. VW has unveiled the European version of the 2025 Tiguan, which means the U.S. debut of the SUV should be coming shortly. We expect the U.S. version of the Tiguan to be similar to the European one we outline here, except for wheelbase. The U.S. is expected to get the long-wheelbase variant of the 2025 Tiguan.
On the outside, the 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan will get a fresh exterior design. The SUV’s front end features rounded headlights, a slim grille, a wide front air intake, and angular elements on the corners of the front fascia. The side of the 2025 Tiguan reveals prominent body lines above the wheel arches and the bottom of the doors. At the back, the 2025 Tiguan gets slim square taillights that are connected by a horizontal bar, a squared-off rear bumper, and a small rear spoiler.
The 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan’s interior design will be far more modern than current model that’s on sale. From the pictures that Volkswagen has shared, the Tiguan will feature an enormous infotainment screen that’s positioned in front of the dashboard, a large digital instrument cluster, and a rectangular trim piece that acts as the face of the dash. The large central screen features touch-capacitive controls, minimal air vents, and a transmission tunnel that’s slightly angled. The Tiguan’s larger size should make the compact SUV roomier than the current model that’s on sale.
When it comes to tech features, we know the 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan will be available with a 15-inch touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster with VW’s Digital Cockpit system, a head-up display, and a new IDA voice assistant. We expect features like Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a wireless charging pad, and a Wi-Fi hotspot to be available.
2025 VW Tiguan Engine & Specs
Volkswagen hasn’t confirmed what engines will be available on the 2025 Tiguan yet. The automaker claims that the Tiguan’s move to the MQB evo platform allows the compact SUV to be offered with a wide range of powertrains. The automaker claims that the Tiguan will be available with turbo-diesel engines, turbocharged gas engines, mild-hybrid engines, and a plug-in hybrid engine. We highly doubt VW will bring diesel engines to the U.S. Shoppers in the U.S. are more likely to see a turbocharged gas engine and an available plug-in hybrid engine.
2025 Volkswagen Tiguan Safety
The 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan will come with advanced safety features that should include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, traffic sign recognition, and a lane change system. Other features that should be available include park assist and trailer assist.
2025 VW Tiguan Pricing
With a full redesign, 2025 Tiguan pricing should increase from its current range of $29,855 to $39,855, but there’s been no word about pricing from VW yet.
Other compact SUVs in the segment include the Mazda CX-50, Kia Sportage, Honda CR-V, Subaru Forester, Hyundai Tucson, Nissan Rogue, Toyota RAV4, and Ford Escape.
