Acura TLX
What To Expect
The 2026 Acura TLX is expected to burst onto the scene as a fully redesigned model, making a splash with its third generation, which may not be an ICE vehicle. We don’t have any indication of what the full redesign will entail, but we expect the sports car to appear with a new front end, grille, headlights, taillights, and possibly some sleeker, less creased body lines.
According to Automotive News, Acura has secured a spot in the lineup for a small electric vehicle to come out in 2026, and it may end up wearing the TLX badge.
2026 Acura TLX Engine & Specs
The current TLX sports sedan comes with the choice of two engines. The base engine is a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder gas engine that produces 272 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. You can also step up to the TLX Type S, which provides a 3.0L turbocharged V6 that makes 355 hp and 353 lb-ft of torque.
However, we don’t expect to see these engines on the new 2026 TLX. Instead, we think the redesigned TLX will arrive as an EV, and ride on a platform similar to the 2024 ZDX, Acura’s first EV which arrives in the spring of 2024.
2026 Acura TLX Safety
Acura has never been one to skimp on safety, so we don’t expect the all-new 2026 TLX to be any different. We assume it will have all the latest safety features, including the standard safety features found on the most current model.
This includes a collision mitigation braking system with advanced pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow and traffic jam assistance, lane-keeping assist with road departure mitigation, traffic sign recognition, auto high-beam headlights, blind spot information, and rear cross-traffic monitoring, plus front and rear parking sensors.
2026 Acura TLX Price
The 2026 Acura TLX sports sedan is higher up in the Acura line-up, and if it arrives as an EV we expect it to have a price that is more expensive than the current TLX model on sale which has an MSRP of $46,195.
2026 Acura TLX Release Date
We expect the 2026 Acura TLX to arrive in the fall of 2025, but we’re not sure of the exact timeframe.
The Acura TLX will compete against, the BMW 5-Series, Cadillac CT5, Lexus ES, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, and Audi A6.
