2027 Chevrolet Silverado What To Expect

The 2027 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD will likely usher in a new generation of heavy-duty pickups from Chevrolet. According to Automotive News, the regular-duty Silverado 1500 will undergo a total redesign in early 2027, and the 2500HD version will follow later in the year. There’s a chance the 2500HD will arrive as a 2028 model.

The upcoming 2500 HD will probably retain its current configurations and a broad array of equipment and trim choices. Buyers can select a regular, extended, or crew cab, with a 6.75-foot or 8-foot bed. Trims range from the utilitarian WT to the luxurious High Country. The mid-level LT currently comes with a 13.4-inch horizontal touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument display, an integrated trailer brake controller, and tailgate lift assist.

2027 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Engine & Specs

We expect Chevy to continue offering gas and turbodiesel V8 engines in the 2500HD. The current 6.6-liter gas V8 produces 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque, enabling the 2500HD to tow up to 17,370 pounds.

The optional 6.6-liter turbodiesel makes 470 hp and 975 lb-ft of torque, enough to pull up to 22,500 pounds. We could see a modest increase in towing capacity for both engines. A plug-in hybrid powerplant may join the roster as well. The current 10-speed automatic transmission will likely carry over.

2027 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Safety

Following tradition, the 2500HD will probably carry basic driver-assistance features as standard, with more sophisticated technology bundled into progressive option packages.

Every 2500HD now comes with automatic high beams, a following distance indicator, and automatic emergency braking. Buyers can add blind-spot monitoring, parking sensors, surround-view cameras, a rearview camera mirror, a head-up display, and adaptive cruise control.

GM’s SuperCruise hands-free highway driving system could join the options list for 2027.

2027 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Price

Since the 2027 2500HD will be a total redesign, a moderate price increase is likely. The current 2500HD’s prices start at $45,295 including destination and goes to $72,895 for the High Country before options.

The 2500HD will compete against heavy-duty pickups like the RAM HDFord Super Duty, and Nissan Titan XD.

2027 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Release Date

We expect the 2500HD to arrive at dealers in spring 2027. If it arrives later in the year, the 2500HD could debut as a 2028 model. This page will be updated with further details on the upcoming 2500HD as they become available.
