2026 Kia EV8 What To Expect
The discontinuation of the Stinger sport sedan leaves a hole in Kia’s lineup. Reports are still unconfirmed, but it appears the void will be filled by an electric sedan called the EV8. We haven’t seen what the EV8 will look like yet, but we have a decent idea of its specs. Here’s what we know so far about the all-new 2026 Kia EV8.
The Kia Stinger was highly regarded among enthusiasts for its driving dynamics, roomy cargo area, and relative affordability compared to other sport sedans. Unfortunately, it never really caught on with the general public and was discontinued following the 2023 model year. However, Kia is addressing its need for a performance sedan with an all-electric model. According to Korean Car Blog, Kia’s next flagship sedan will be known as the EV8 and feature some impressive specs.
No official images of the upcoming EV8 have been released yet, but we’re expecting it to adopt the angular futuristic design shared by Kia’s latest EV models. We’re also expecting it to share the same liftback layout as its Stinger predecessor.
Like the exterior, we expect the EV8 to mirror the minimalist cabins of Kia’s other electric models. We wouldn’t be surprised to see the dual 12.3″ screen layout found in the EV9 SUV make its way into the EV8 either.
Although it’s still unconfirmed, we have more info surrounding the EV8’s powertrain. The electric sedan will reportedly be the first model to ride on Kia’s upcoming eM EV platform. It’s expected to utilize a 113.2 kWh battery pack that could deliver a range of nearly 500 miles. The EV6 is also expected to feature an all-wheel drive dual-motor setup with a combined system output of a healthy 612 hp.
2026 Kia EV8 Price & Release Date
Kia hasn’t announced pricing for the 2026 EV8 yet, but we expect it to command a higher starting price than the $37,865 Stinger given its specs.
No official release date has been revealed, but Korean Car Blog expects the EV8 to launch in late 2025 or early 2026.
