Nissan LEAFWhat To Expect

Once a leader in the electric vehicle segment, the Nissan Leaf has soldiered on without any major changes for years. With the 2025 Nissan Leaf arriving for the electric car’s eighth model year on sale, we don’t expect to see any large changes. The 2025 Leaf should be a carryover model. Here’s what we expect to see from the upcoming Leaf.

The exterior design of the 2025 Nissan Leaf isn’t expected to change for the upcoming model year. The 2025 Leaf should retain the same overall design as the current model that’s on sale. The Leaf has an angular front end with triangular headlights, a slim front air intake, and a small version of Nissan’s V-shaped grille.

The EV is available with distinctive wheel designs and features a bulbous roofline. The rounded profile remains the same at the back, though the Leaf has C-shaped taillights, a small rear spoiler, and blacked-out C-pillars.

We don’t expect Nissan to make any changes to the 2025 Leaf’s interior design. The current Leaf has a simple interior design with a plethora of physical controls, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and straightforward lines. Nissan’s circular gear shifter is a unique touch, while the compact hatchback has a generous amount of interior space for its size.

When it comes to tech features, the 2025 Nissan Leaf should continue to come with an eight-inch touchscreen, a seven-inch digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite radio, four USB ports, and four audio speakers. Navigation and six audio speakers should be optional.

2025 Nissan LEAF Engine & Specs

Nissan offers the current Leaf with two powertrains. The base Nissan Leaf comes with a single 110-kW electric motor on the front wheels that makes 147 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque. A larger 160-kW electric motor is available that boosts output to 214 hp and 250 lb-ft of torque.

The base Leaf comes with a 40-kWh battery pack, while a 60-kWh battery pack is available. The base Leaf with the 40-kWh pack has 149 miles of range, while the larger 60-kWh pack brings up to 212 miles of range. These powertrains should remain unchanged for the 2025 Nissan Leaf.

2025 Nissan LEAF Safety

Every Nissan Leaf comes with automatic high-beam assist, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, rear cross-traffic alert, blind spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, and lane departure warning.

Available features include a driver-attention monitor, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control, and a surround-view camera. We expect the 2025 Nissan Leaf to come with the same standard and optional safety features as the current model that’s on sale.

2025 Nissan LEAF Price

Nissan has not announced pricing for the 2025 model year yet. The 2025 Nissan Leaf should remain close to the 2024 model when it comes to pricing. The current Leaf’s pricing ranges from $29,280 to $37,330.

Competitors in the EV segment include the Hyundai IONIQ 6Chevrolet Bolt EVMINI Electric Hardtop, and Tesla Model 3.

2025 Nissan LEAF Release Date

The 2025 Nissan Leaf could arrive at dealerships before the end of 2024. More information on the compact EV should become available within the next few months.

Please check back for updates as they become available.
