What To Expect
The 2025 Polestar 2 will likely arrive with minimal change following this year’s important updates. For 2024, the EV received a bump in power and range, and single-motor examples switched to a rear-wheel drive layout. The line also added standard and available drive-assistance features.
The Polestar 2 resembles a compact sedan, but it’s really a hatchback with up to 38.7 cubic feet of cargo space. The five-passenger interior comes with a 12.3 inch digital gauge cluster, an 11.2-inch center touchscreen, a Google-based infotainment system, and heated power front seats. Perhaps most compelling, the Polestar 2 can deliver up to 320 miles of range.
2025 Polestar 2 Engine & Specs
We expect the Polestar 2’s recently updated powertrains to carry into 2025. The single-motor model carries a rear-mounted electric motor with 299 horsepower and 361 lb-ft of torque, fed by a lithium-ion battery. This setup has an EPA-estimated range of 320 miles with the standard 19-inch wheels and propels the Polestar 2 from zero to 60 mph in 5.9 seconds. Range eases to 307 miles with the available 20-inch wheels.
The optional dual-motor, all-wheel drive system produces 421 hp and 546 lb-ft of torque. The sprint to 60 mph takes just 4.3 seconds, although range drops to 276 miles, or 266 miles with the 20-inch wheels. Buyers can add a Performance Package that provides a boost to 455 hp, plus special chassis tuning, Brembo brakes, suspension dampers, and standard 20-inch wheels. Range decreases to 247 miles with the Performance Package.
2025 Polestar 2 Safety
The Polestar 2’s strong roster of standard driver-assistance features will certainly continue. All models currently come with lane-keeping assist, front cross-traffic alert with brake support, driver attention monitoring, traffic sign recognition, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and automatic emergency braking. Dual-motor models also get adaptive cruise control with steering assist, which is optional with the single motor.
2025 Polestar 2 Price
Polestar has not announced 2025 pricing yet. The current Polestar 2’s price ranges from $51,300 including destination to $64,400 for the dual-motor model with the Performance Package. We’ll report back with official confirmation of pricing, which can sometimes be volatile in this segment.
