Electric SUV – The new 2025 Toyota bZ5X is a larger electric SUV than the existing bZ4X, which will go on sale soon. The bZ5X, which has a third row of positions, will serve as the electric counterpart to Toyota’s three-row Highlander SUV. On the outside, it appears contemporary and futuristic, but we haven’t seen the inside yet, so we are unsure what we can anticipate in terms of the dashboard layout. Toyota hasn’t revealed anything about the powertrain, although it could use solid-state battery technology rather than the more popular lithium-ion version, as well as a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive electric drivetrain.
What’s New for 2025?
Toyota has not provided a release date for this new car, but we believe it will be available for the 2025 model year. It is one of 30 new EVs that Toyota and Lexus aim to release by 2030 as part of the company’s bZ portfolio, which stands for “Beyond Zero.” Other crossover variants including a sedan will be added to the BZ lineup.
2025 Toyota bZ5X Design
The main distinction of the Toyota bZ5X will be its third seat row, which will raise the overall seating capacity to seven or eight occupants depending on configuration. SoftTex leather padding will probably cover the cushioning of more expensive Toyota bZ5X models, with additional eco-friendly materials strewn about the cabin.

The 2025 bZ4X has a conventional 12.3-inch touchscreen interface and an electronic driver’s display, therefore the bZ5X will most likely expand on this configuration. Wireless phone charging, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and safety features like parking detection and blind-spot tracking will almost certainly be standard.
There are 16 cubic feet behind the third row and 48.4 cubic feet behind the next row in the three-row Highlanders. We anticipate that the cargo space in the Toyota bZ5X will be larger than these estimates.

2025 Toyota bZ5X Powertrain
The 2025 Toyota bZ5X powertrain specifications are unknown. It, like the bZ4X, may be equipped with a single-motor, front-wheel-drive powertrain as standard, with a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive system available higher up the range. We expect the Toyota bZ5X will have greater torque than the bZ4X, as 214 hp in dual-motor form won’t be enough for a three-row SUV packed with individuals and their things. Some reports claim an output of around 300 hp, which should be enough for a 0-60 mph time of about six seconds.

Safety and Driver Assistance
As we all know, safety is a top priority for both passengers and the company. So how can Toyota be so far behind? Toyota also includes a slew of standard safety systems in its SUVs, such as an automatic emergency braking system with pedestrian detection, Lane Keeping Assist with Lane Departure warning, and many more. As a result, we anticipate that the upcoming Toyota bZ3X will include an increasing number of standard safety measures. The following are the safety elements that are expected to be included:
- Pedestrian Detection Pre-Collision System
- Lane Departure Warning and Steering Assist
- Assist with Lane Tracing
- High Beams that operate automatically
- Full-Scale Dynamics Cruise Control Using Radar
- Assist with Road Signs
- Front and rear parking assist with automatic braking system
- Safe Exit Warning with Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear-Cross Traffic Alert
- Vehicle Stability Control Traction Control Anti-Lock Braking System
- System for Monitoring Tire Pressure
- Seat Belts Rear View Camera
