What To Expect
The BMW M3 continues to be one of the best all-round sports sedans on sale. For 2024, BMW introduced a limited-edition M3 CS model with lightweight materials, unique suspension tuning, an exclusive M Dynamic Mode, sticky tires, and 543 horsepower. With the introduction of a new model last year, we expect the 2025 BMW M3 to be a carryover model. Reports indicate that the BMW 3-Series could be getting a redesign in late 2025 or early 2026.
The exterior design of the 2025 BMW M3 isn’t expected to change compared to the current model that’s on sale. The current M3 features an aggressive exterior design with large, vertically oriented grilles, triangular headlights, an angular front fascia, and wide fenders. At the back, the M3 has large quad exhaust outlets, a small rear spoiler, and a chiseled rear bumper with deep cutouts. Compared to the 3-Series that it’s based on, the M3 has a much sportier design.
On the inside, the 2025 BMW M3 should have the same interior design as the current M3. The M3 shares a lot of the same design elements as the less powerful 3-Series but comes with unique M badges, special trim, some different controls, and heavily bolstered seats. Available red stitching, red interior lighting, a red push-to-start button, and red buttons on the steering wheel give the M3 a sportier edge over lower 3-Series models.
Standard tech features with the 2025 BMW M3 should continue to match the ones found on the current model that’s on sale. The M3 currently comes with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.9-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, navigation, Bluetooth, satellite radio, voice recognition, two USB ports, and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system.
2025 BMW M3 Engine & Specs
All BMW M3 models come with a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine. In the standard M3, the engine is rated at 473 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed to the rear wheels and a six-speed manual transmission is standard.
The M3 Competition steps things up with a more powerful engine that’s rated at 503 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque. The engine is only available with an eight-speed automatic transmission. RWD is standard, but the M3 Competition is available with all-wheel drive.
The range-topping M3 CS features a 543-hp version of the engine, AWD, and an eight-speed automatic transmission. The M3 CS can get to 60 mph in 2.7 seconds. These engines are expected to remain the same for the 2025 model year.
2025 BMW M3 Safety
On the safety front, the 2025 BMW M3 should come standard with forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, automatic high-beam assist, blind spot monitoring, traffic sign recognition, front and rear parking sensors, and lane departure warning. Available safety features include hands-free park assist, a surround-view camera, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control.
2025 BMW M3 Price
BMW hasn’t confirmed pricing for the 2025 M3 yet. Without any major changes, the upcoming 2025 M3 should continue to range from $76,995 to $119,695.
Competitors in the segment include the Mercedes-Benz AMG C63, Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing, and Audi RS5 Sportback.
2025 BMW M3 Release Date
The 2024 BMW M3 went on sale in July 2023, so we estimate that the 2025 BMW M3 will be released in July 2024. More information on the sports sedan should become available within the next few months.
