Subaru has officially announced that a Forester Hybrid model will arrive in 2026. Beyond confirming that the 2026 Subaru Forester Hybrid is coming out, the automaker hasn’t provided a lot of specifications on the model. Here’s what we know about the upcoming 2026 Forester Hybrid.
With the 2025 Subaru Forester arriving for the new model year with a fresh design, we expect the 2026 Forester Hybrid to have the same look as the 2025 model. The 2025 Forester has an oval grille, triangular front headlights, and robust fender flares. The rear end of the Forester has wraparound taillights, a small rear spoiler, and a large rear bumper.
We expect the 2026 Subaru Forester Hybrid to have the same interior design as the 2025 model. The current Forester has a simple interior design with an elongated center console, a few physical controls, triangular air vents, and clear gauges. Because of its design, the Forester Hybrid should have the same roomy cabin as the gas-powered model and a similar amount of cargo space.
The 2026 Subaru Forester Hybrid should come with similar tech features to the current 2025 Forester. Instead of the 2025 Forester’s standard dual-screen system, we expect the 2026 Forester Hybrid to come with a standard 11.6-inch touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hotspot, multiple USB ports, and navigation should be available.
2026 Subaru Forester Hybrid Engine & Specs
Information on what kind of powertrain the 2026 Subaru Forester Hybrid will come with isn’t available yet. Reports indicate that the electrified SUV could have a boxer engine that’s paired with an electric motor and a battery pack that’s from Toyota.
2026 Subaru Forester Hybrid Safety
Subaru hasn’t confirmed standard safety features for the 2025 Forester yet. We expect the 2026 Subaru Forester Hybrid to come with the same list of safety features as the 2025 model. Standard safety features should include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, automatic high-beam assist, and adaptive cruise control.

Pricing for the 2026 Subaru Forester Hybrid isn’t available yet. We expect the electrified model to be more expensive than the 2025 Forester.

Subaru has not confirmed when the 2026 Forester Hybrid will go on sale. The electrified model is expected to arrive a year after the 2025 Forester. More information on the compact SUV should become available within the next few months.
