The 2025 BMW i4 delivers electrons to one or two electric motors, depending on the model. The eDrive35 has a single 282-horsepower motor with rear-wheel drive, whereas the eDrive40 has the same single-motor rear-drive architecture but increases the output to 335 horsepower. The all-wheel drive i4 xDrive40 model boosts performance with two motors delivering 396 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque. The M50 is the top model in the series, with a dual-motor all-wheel drive powertrain rated at 536 horsepower and 586 pound-feet. In C/D testing, the M50 reached 60 mph in 3.3 seconds, faster than a rear-drive M3 Competition.

That is over a full second faster than the more powerful non-turbo Mazda CX-30.
