The same 6-cylinder engine serves as the primary powerplant for the 2025 BMW X5 xDrive50e. The SUV gains speed and efficiency and generates 483 horsepower thanks to the electric assistance system. It takes less than 5 seconds to reach 60 mph. In addition to being more potent, the PHEV system has a longer range between charges. The X5 can travel 40 kilometers with the electric motor.

The M60i model’s powerful outputs of 523 horsepower and 553 lb-ft cause the clock to halt at 4 seconds. Under the hood, a 4.4-liter V8 is still present. You can’t expect the engine to be fuel-efficient with those statistics. Even still, 22 mpg is a respectable outcome.

BMW X5 Technology

The 2025 BMW X5 is the newest vehicle to receive the iDrive 8 system; the improved software, according to BMW, decreases load times between various menus. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also included with the software.

Furthermore, the revised iDrive software enabled BMW’s Intelligent Personal Assistant to gain additional capabilities; it can now receive voice requests for changing temperatures, open or shut the expansive moonroof, and even manage other driver-assistance features. When the system is turned on, a picture emerges on the screens that “turns” toward the speaker. BMW argues that this is an indication that the system is attentively waiting for a command.

Features for Driver Assistance and Safety

The majority of the 2025 X5’s safety features have remained the same for the new model year, but BMW has added some new features. The SUV’s innovative Road Assistance system enables hands-free driving on restricted highways at speeds of up to 85 mph. The SUV can reverse independently and save actions for up to 656 feet thanks to the Park Assistance Professional feature. A more sophisticated version of the function may save up to 1,970 feet of movement.
